Planning for the Thanksgiving Break

As  the end of the trimester falls in Thanksgiving Week this year we are reminding our families of the schedules for our school days and early release times (which have changed this year). We know many families plan travel around the Thanksgiving break: Pre-approval is only required for absences of 3 days or more, but families are reminded to email the attendance office if their student will be absent during Thanksgiving week.

News from the Healthroom

Important news from our school nurse about how we manage any out break of measles in the school community.

Veterans Day: Assembly tomorrow, with a holiday on Tuesday Nov 11 2025

We are proud to be hosting an all-school assembly, celebrating Veterans Day at PLMS tomorrow.  Any community members, that are active or retired military, are welcome to join us from 8.40am. Please sign in at the front office.   Families: please note there is a normal school day on Monday Nov 10 - both staff and students will enjoy the day off on Tuesday, in honor of Veterans Day itself.

Arranging pre-approved absences for 3 days or more

As we approach the holidays, our Attendance Secretary is asking families to review the district guidance on pre-approved absences, for three days or more, to ensure they can be excused for your students:

Student supervision on campus

We are seeing an increasing number of students being unexpectedly dropped off very early on a morning, or not picked up when their school day ends. As the weather changes and its gets significantly colder outside in this area, we are providing a reminder to parents/guardians of the hallway opening times when students are welcome to freely access the building. We also ask you to check your emergency contacts in Family Access to ensure they are up to date.
