Annual Gift Drive for Thorndyke Elementary School, Tukwila

BE A GIFT DRIVE SUPERHERO!

Since 2017, the gift-giving superhero, Captain Winter, has visited Pine Lake! As in the past, Captain Winter encourages students and families to donate gifts for our sister-school, Thorndyke Elementary, in the Tukwila School District. These gifts will also be donated to other families in need living in Tukwila. It is our chance to come together, serve our neighbors, and make a difference. Be a Gift-Giving Superhero!

Many of these families are living in difficult circumstances. 

In addition, we know there are Pine Lake families that could use some kindness as well. The gifts we collect will also go to PLMS families in need.

Here’s the Plan! 

6^th Grade Homerooms: we are collecting NEW socks, hats, mittens, gloves, scarves, warm blankets 

7^th Grade Homerooms: we are collecting NEW socks, hats, gloves, scarves, warm blankets, sports equipment and board games for grades 5-8.  

8^th Grade Homerooms: we are collecting NEW socks, hats, gloves, scarves, warm blankets, sports equipment and $10-$20 gift cards for grades 9-12. Gift cards should be for Subway, Safeway, Fred Meyer, Walmart, Target, Chipotle, McDonalds, Chick Filet (not Costco, as many families do not have a membership). 

 

**THEY ARE ALSO DESPERATELY IN NEED OF HYGIENE ITEMS (toothpaste, feminine products, diapers, deodorant, shampoo, soap, toilet paper, etc)

 

WE ARE ONLY COLLECTING NEW ITEMS FOR THIS GIFT DRIVE

 

For many of these families, these donations might be the only gifts they receive this year.

You can send in UNWRAPPED gifts to your child’s homeroom starting tomorrow. The drive will end Friday, December 12. Thank you!
