Students leaving campus after drop-off

We are seeing an increasing number of students leaving campus, immediately after being dropped by their parents; often they then arrive tardy for school with snacks & drinks purchased from the local shopping area.
We are asking that families drop their students directly at the local stores, if they intend for their student to purchase items before school. Alternatively, if your student is marked tardy for homeroom (or 1st period on a Wednesday), please actively check in with them before assuming that their absence is an error in our attendance records.
Our crossing guards are positioned to safely cross students from the neighborhood into campus, before the start of school. They will be letting any students, who wish to leave campus, know that they should return to the building - as leaving campus after parent drop-off in the morning is not permitted.
